Have you ever stuck an important Post-it somewhere you know you’ll see it—on your desk, your fridge, or even your bathroom mirror?
We tend to put the things that matter where we can see them. After all, what we place before our eyes has a way of capturing our attention and staying at the forefront of our minds.
I believe that’s what we’re called to do with God’s Word, too.
And Proverbs 4:20–22 invites us to do just that.
“My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.”
Friend, there is great value in keeping His Word before us.
Maybe you’ve had a rough day at work, and you come home feeling lousy about yourself. Then you spot a little note you left somewhere:
“I am deeply loved and accepted in the Beloved. The Lord delights in me. 💛”
And just like that, you’re reminded of how He sees you.
Or maybe you’re going through a health challenge, and fear has been creeping in. But then you see a simple reminder:
“The Lord is my healer and my ever-present help. 🙏”
Or perhaps you’re about to step into an important meeting or presentation when a line from your journal catches your eye:
“The Lord is with me. His favor surrounds me as a shield. 🛡️”
These little moments can make such a difference. Sometimes all it takes is one verse, one thought, one reminder of the Lord’s heart toward us to steady our hearts and turn our eyes back to His grace and love.
How precious, then, to keep His Word close where we can see it throughout the day, front and center in our hearts and minds. And what better place for that than somewhere many of us look most often?
