None of the protection truths shared in God’s Word negates the fact that we are called and given the privilege to suffer persecution for His name’s sake.
Apostle Paul shares in the book of Philippians, “For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear is in me” (Phil. 1:29–30).
Furthermore, Paul tells his protégé, Timothy, “Everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution” (2 Tim. 3:12 NLT, emphasis mine). Jesus Himself said that those who follow Him will be persecuted for His name’s sake (see Matt. 10:22).
This persecution involves other people who come against you when you live a godly life and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. Be clear that it doesn’t involve terminal illnesses, tragic accidents, or premature death.
