We were on a very busy highway driving through four states. We had made a few stops with no problems, but it began to rain as evening set in, and the car started to sound strange. We eventually moved to the slow lane, but the sound grew louder over the next few hours.
We prayed for travel mercies, and at that time, I began to pray the prayer of protection (Psalm 91). It was still raining and dark when we were able to pull to the side of the road. Five bolts and five lug nuts hold each tire to the car, but on one of the back tires, two bolts had completely shorn off, and the three remaining lug nuts were so loose they could be turned by hand.
We were speechless when we considered what could have happened at highway speeds in the rain at night with a tire barely connected to the car. Thank You, Jesus, for traveling mercies and Psalm 91! Pastor Prince, thank you for the wonderful series on the prayer of protection. It was a wonderful reminder to pray!
