In Joshua and Caleb’s time, the children of Israel conquered all of the promised land but did not fully possess it. This represents how today, the battle has been won by the Lord but there is still much more land (blessings and promises of God, our inheritance as children of God) for us to possess.
We possess this land by having the spirit of faith that Caleb had.
Today’s topic: the spirit of faith
Our part today is to believe that everything Jesus accomplished for us on the cross is true and to thank Him for it.
Our part is not to worry about the manifestation of those blessings. That’s God’s part!
Today’s key scripture:
“So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” So all bore witness to Him, and marveled at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth. And they said, “Is this not Joseph’s son?”
He said to them, “You will surely say this proverb to Me, ‘Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in Your country.’ ” Then He said, “Assuredly, I say to you, no prophet is accepted in his own country. But I tell you truly, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was a great famine throughout all the land; but to none of them was Elijah sent except to Zarephath, in the region of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and none of them was cleansed except Naaman the Syrian.”
So all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, and rose up and thrust Him out of the city; and they led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, that they might throw Him down over the cliff. Then passing through the midst of them, He went His way.”

“they said, ‘Is this not Joseph’s son?’” — Jesus was despised for being just a carpenter’s son.
In fact, the darker your past, the more glorious your life will be when God touches it. If you’re saying today, “My life is messed up,” know that God can use you.
God can also use you if you come from a good background. But not if your eyes are on what you have in the natural.
When our trust is in the natural / in ourselves / in man, we hinder the grace of God from flowing in our lives and accomplishing great things.
This can be seen in the lives of Bible characters:
When Judah and Barak placed their trust in man instead of God (see Judg. 1:1–4 and Judg. 4:7–9), they could not fully claim the victory that God intended for them to have.
Faith is keeping our eyes on God and not on man.
Because the people of Nazareth fixed their eyes on the natural (that Jesus was just a carpenter’s son), they missed out on receiving the supernatural healing and provision that He wanted to give them.
Jesus specifically called out these 2 blessings (healing and provision) when He spoke to them:
“Then He said, “Assuredly, I say to you, no prophet is accepted in his own country. But I tell you truly, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was a great famine throughout all the land; but to none of them was Elijah sent except to Zarephath, in the region of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and none of them was cleansed except Naaman the Syrian.”
So all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, and rose up and thrust Him out of the city; and they led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, that they might throw Him down over the cliff. Then passing through the midst of them, He went His way.”

“many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah … but to none of them was Elijah sent except to Zarephath, in the region of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow” — This miracle that Jesus was referring to was a miracle of provision: “The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry, according to the word of the Lord which He spoke by Elijah.” (1 Kings 17:16).
The bin of flour that didn’t run out meant that the woman always had enough food. The jar of oil that never ran dry—not only used for cooking, but also for lighting lamps—meant that the woman had light in her dwelling. God provided sustenance and daily necessities for this woman to live in comfort. This was a miracle of provision.
And this woman was not even a Jew who came under God’s covenant. She was a Gentile.
“many lepers were in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and none of them was cleansed except Naaman the Syrian.” — This is a miracle of healing and renewal of youth: “So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.” (2 Kings 5:14).
Just like the widow of Zarephath, Naaman was not a Jew, but a Gentile.
Today, we’re in an even better position than Naaman. We don’t need to go by these methods to get healed. Elisha couldn’t lay hands on Naaman or touch him in any way to cleanse him—he had to tell Naaman to go dip in the river.
But Jesus doesn’t need a river. By His Word and by His personal touch, the leper in Matthew 8:1–4 was healed. Jesus’ Word and His touch are enough.

“So all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath” — Why were the people of Nazareth so angry when Jesus gave these 2 examples? Even when Jesus read Isaiah's prophecy and claimed to be the Anointed One, they were not angry.
They were furious because the ones who received healing and provision in the examples Jesus gave were not Jews. They didn’t deserve it.
The people of Nazareth were so angry with Jesus that they tried to throw Him off a cliff. But “passing through the midst of them, He went His way.” — Grace never forces His way through. He isn’t pushy or forceful. If you don’t want Him and what He wants to give you, He will go His way.
The church today shuns the “prosperity gospel” or the “health and wealth gospel.” But actually, “health and wealth” are simply healing and provision.
Jesus Himself talked about it. And He told us how to receive it.
That’s how the widow of Zarephath and Naaman the Syrian got their miracles. They were Gentiles and they didn’t deserve it. It was purely by the grace, the goodness, and the kindness of God.
John, the disciple whom Jesus loved, the one who leaned on His bosom and heard His heartbeat, wrote this:
“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”
— 3 John 1:2 NKJV
This is Scripture. This is God’s will.
God’s will is not only printed in red in the Gospels. When we read the New Testament, especially the Gospels, we must be able to discern between:
The book of Acts onwards, including all of Paul’s letters and letters from the other apostles, are filled with new covenant truths that were written for us believers today. They are God's will, accomplished by Jesus' finished work at the cross, even though they are not printed in red.
So being healthy and well-provided-for like 3 John 1:2 says is God’s will for us.

“Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.”
— Isaiah 53:4–5 NKJV
Isaiah 53 is a messianic prophecy that tells us that Jesus fully paid for our healing at the cross.
“Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows” — The Hebrew word for “griefs” is “kholee,” which means “diseases.” And the Hebrew word for “sorrows” is “makov,” which means “pains” (see slide 7).
This verse speaks of physical healing.
This is also proven in Matthew 8:17 where Isaiah 53 is quoted:
“When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:
“He Himself took our infirmities
And bore our sicknesses.””
— Matthew 8:16–17 NKJV
Matthew 8:17 quotes Isaiah 53:4, making it clear that Isaiah 53 is talking about the healing of physical sicknesses.
In the Old Testament, there were 5 offerings that represented the sacrifice of Christ. In all the animal offerings, the priests and offerers used a method and procedure where the animals were killed quickly and painlessly.
But Jesus death wasn’t painless. He was wounded, bruised, chastised, and scourged (see Isa. 53)—so that we might be healed.
As surely as the stripes fell on Jesus’ back, your sickness is gone.
Pastor Prince starts to pray for people with these conditions:
In closing this time of ministry, Pastor Prince shares how it is so important for pastors to preach the truth that Jesus heals today and that our healing has been paid for at the cross. It is so important that we believe it. We cannot compromise on God’s Word no matter what our circumstances say. He shares how he went through a painful miscarriage, but he cannot let that stop him from believing and preaching that Jesus heals. He encourages those who have lost loved ones to know that their loved ones are with Jesus now and they are perfectly happy.
Still, we cannot let go of the fact that healing is provided for us. It’s in the finished work of Jesus at the cross. We don’t compromise on believing that even if our circumstances are contrary.
Even though Paul died as a martyr, this is what he said:
“For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you. And being confident of this, I know that I shall remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy of faith,”
— Philippians 1:23–25 NKJV
“being confident of this, I know that I shall remain and continue with you all” — Paul had a choice. He wasn’t subject to martyrdom. He chose. He had power from Christ to put death at bay.
The rapture generation has the power to be alive and “remain” (see 1 Thess. 4:17).
For Paul, the fastest way to be with the Lord and to glorify Him through his death was martyrdom. So he chose it.
What about the other martyrs?
“... Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.”
— Hebrews 11:35 NKJV
“not accepting deliverance” — The traditional understanding of this verse is that the martyrs didn’t accept the escape that their enemies offered them. That’s not accurate. The word “deliverance” is the Greek word “apolutrosis,” which is always used in the Bible to refer to redemption from God—not from man (see Eph. 1:7, Luke 21:28, 1 Cor. 1:30). This verse means that the martyrs chose not to accept this deliverance from God because they wanted to be with Jesus. Just like Paul.
“For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect, because the law brings about wrath; for where there is no law there is no transgression. Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all”
— Romans 4:13–16 NKJV
“the promise that he would be the heir of the world” — We can’t be the “heir of the world” if we are always sick or broke. Healing and provision are in this “heir of the world” blessing. All the lesser blessings are in this big blessing too.
“the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not ... through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.” — These blessings are not through the law: our obedience, earning, or deserving of them.
The widow of Zarephath and Naaman the Syrian deserved nothing. They were Gentiles. But the moment they trusted God, the moment they looked at the Savior, they were saved. They were healed. They were provided for.
The obedience of faith is right believing. Right believing produces right living.
What stops people from receiving God’s healing and provision today is not sin.
Grace is greater than sin. If sin could stop grace, grace would have never begun.
What stops us from receiving God’s blessings is believing that we have to earn them, when actually, God has already made us righteous (see 2 Cor. 5:21) and an heir to all these blessings (see Rom. 4:13).
The way to receive divine health and provision today:
“The Lord bless you with the blessings of Father Abraham. Receive it in Jesus name. The Lord keep you, the Lord preserve you, the Lord protect you throughout this entire week—you and your families—from every harm, danger, accident, tragedy. From every sickness, every infection. From all the powers of darkness. The Lord grant you favor everywhere you go. You'll be at the right place at the right time. The Lord grant you and your loved ones shalom health, peace, and well-being. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and all the people say? Amen.”
